Annealed glass, the origin of curved glass

The principle of producing curved annealed glass consists of bringing a flat sheet of glass to softening temperature so that it will sag due to the force of gravity into the shape determined by a bending mould. The glass is then slowly cooled (annealed).

This technique permits creation of a wide range of shapes and makes it possible to bend all types of glass. It is particularly suitable for the production of laminated glass and insulating glass..
